This walkthrough is not as intimidating or as expensive as a formal inspection, but still gives you an idea of what you might be up against before you overpay for overlooked problems! When your real estate agent shows you your property, you can hire me to “tag-along.” I would do an inspection as I walk through the house and document the highlights and major areas just like a formal inspection, but there would be no written/digital document.
If you purchase the home I have performed a “walk-through” for and would like me to come back for a formal inspection, then I would pro-rate the cost of the “walk-through” from the cost of a formal inspection. This means you would only pay the difference!
